Personal Training
Personal training can benefit everybody - from the individual who is considering fitness for the first time to the elite athlete looking to enhance performance. Everyone can benefit from personal training!
Working with a Personal Fitness Trainer, you can achieve your fitness goals - goals as modest as touching your toes again or as ambitious as preparing for a marathon. Each of us is unique; we all have different goals, ambitions and desires. A Personal Fitness Trainer can help you attain your aspirations - how? By listening to you and understanding your goals and personal time commitments.
Your personal trainer will:
- Assess your current level of fitness
- Listen to you and your goals and then;
- Devise a personal training program to achieve these goals in a safe environment, and
- Continue to encourage and motivate you through creative and fun exercise programming
The benefits to personal training are many and varied. You can expect:
- Increased muscle mass and decreased fat mass
- Increased good cholesterol (HDL) and decreased bad cholesterol (LDL)
- Decreased blood pressure
- Increased bone density
- Increased energy levels
- Increased strength, endurance and flexibility
- Increased self-esteem!
Assessment Process
STRIDE is a lifestyle-specific mentoring process, designed to help you live happier and healthier. We help our clients succeed because we help them find the place where mental adjustments meet physical training. It’s a holistic approach that generates real results. The first workout begins with us learning about you from the inside out.
The Physical You
We start by looking at the landscape: your personal health history, physical activity, body weight, body fat percentage, etc. Then we do some benchmark physical testing. This helps us learn about your body; areas of strength, vulnerability, and how these areas effect your day-to-day life.
The Emotional You
Our one-on-one interview entails custom designed, thought provoking questions that give us the skinny on your emotional make up. We look into how you feel about yourself, your sources of stress, what good health means to you, as well as what and where you would like to see change take place.
Your Nutritional Habits
After peering into the things that drive you mentally, we look at what fuels you physically. As revolutionary as we like to think we are, there certainly is truth to the old adage "you are what you eat". before we design your program, we look at what, where and when you eat and assess your nutritional IQ accordingly.
Understanding Your Real Goals
A goal is of no value if it is unattainable. we help you identify tangible, achievable goals that stem from an understanding of what you want from this process and what benefits you believe you will receive.
In-Home (or Office) Personal Training Sessions
Too busy to go to the gym?
With STRIDE we bring fitness to you! Our trainers will come to your home or office, with all the equipment you need to get a challenging total-body workout without your leaving your front door.
We'll provide the fitness and exercise plan, the equipment, and the trainer. You provide the desire to change, and the right attitude.
We will work with your schedule.
Your personal training appointments are scheduled at times that are convenient for you, when you can be free of distraction, and when you feel that you can be at your best for your workout.
Why Home Training?
Because it eliminates excuses! Not enough time to go to the gym? The gym comes to you. You can work out on your lunch hour, or at any time of day that works for you. Excuses gone! Don't like the "meat market" atmosphere? We don't either. When you work out at home or in your office, you don't have to compete with anyone, dress up for anyone, or work out to impress anyone. Excuses gone!
Many people already own equipment, and don't want to join a gym (and shouldn't have to!) You may own exercise videos that you don't watch (or ONLY watch, and don't actually participate.) You have probably researched basic weight training, and have a basic idea of what to do, but you're not doing it. THAT's why having a trainer is a good option.
Having a trainer work with you can teach you how to properly use the equipment you have, motivate you (when you have the time and resources and just don't do it anyway) and give you ideas of things you can use-right in your home-to improve your fitness and health.
It's also a good opportunity to have a fitness professional evaluate your environment for "non-friendly" nutrition traps that could jeopardize your program, if that's something that would be helpful. Your trainer might ask to look in your refrigerator or pantry from time to time, and address any "triggers" that could get you off track or lead to a lapse. NOT to judge you; but to be a resource, and give you advice about things you might try as alternatives.
I know a lot of independent trainers who will train me at home, and for a lot less money. Why STRIDE for in-home training?
Because unlike many "independant" trainers out there who are just trying to establish themselves in the fitness industry by offering discounted in-home training sessions, our personal trainers have years of experience in a variety of fitness settings and have had the opportunity to observe thousands of sessions with clients, and been exposed to many different personal training styles and techniques.
When you work with a trainer, you must be sure that he or she
- Has experience (and not just knowledge,)
- Is ethical and professional, and
- Has observed plenty of other trainers and training styles, so that they DON'T just lead you through a standard one-fits-all weight routine
- Is able to discern (not only from his or her own experiences but from those of other professional trainers) what will work best FOR YOU, based on your personal fitness and health goals. We don't just lead you through a workout routine that we know; we lead you through a workout routine that we know will work for you. And we hold ourselves and the other members of our team to a strong code of professional ethics.
We don't conduct home training sessions because we have to . We conduct in-home personal training because we know that it is a convenient, personalized way to get the fitness expertise of a trainer, and we know how important it is to get an in-home trainer who is knowledgeable, professional, and experienced with people like you.
We don't just show up. When we arrive at your home, we bring all of our "training world" expertise and experience into your home, for every session. For us, it's more than a workout. It's an opportunity to provide you with all the education and experience you need to adopt or maintain a lifestyle of health, wellness, and strength of mind and body.
Each STRIDE personal trainer has a full repertoire of ideas, tools, and resources at his / her disposal. A STRIDE trainer not only knows his/her stuff, but is continually learning from others and improving his or her own skills as a trainer.
Your STRIDE personal trainer has resources available to him or her that solo trainers just don't have -the camaraderie, expertise, and specializations of fellow STRIDE Team trainers. This is of special benefit to you.
You don't just have a trainer; you have a team of professionals behind you as a resource. When you work with one of our trainers, you have an opportunity to learn all you need to know in order to implement a long term healthier, and more fit lifestyle-for the rest of your life.
